Join summer math camp hosted by MATHCOUNTS alums – online and free!

Jul 22, 2024

Minnesota MATHCOUNTS alum Angie Huang and some of our other high school math student leaders across the state are inviting middle school students to join summer math camp. Please see the note below and register to join.

The goal of this camp is to inspire more people (especially girls) to intensively participate in competition math. The instructors for the camp include MATHCOUNTS alumni Aarya Garimella, Jinu Lee, and Sneha Kundu (Jinu and Sneha both qualified for nationals). This camp is oriented towards middle school students, but anyone can participate (especially if they want to get some experience with competition math).

A note from camp leaders:

Are you looking for an intensive yet thrilling summer experience to improve your competition math skills?

Join the Minnesota Youth Math Outreach this summer for our free 12-day online camp, weekdays at 1-4 PM from August 12th to August 27th! Our student-run camp consists of members of the Minnesota All-State Math Team, including next season’s captains! We will be sharing our strategies involved in preparation for competitions like the AMCs, AIME, HMMT, and more!

The four main subject areas (Algebra, Combinatorics, Number Theory, and Geometry) will each be devoted three days of classes, with the first day consisting of fundamental knowledge areas and the final two days consisting of advanced topics such as complex numbers, recursion, diophantine equations, and mass points. Anyone is welcome to participate, but we especially encourage those in (or coming out of) middle school to attend!

Look to our website for more information, including camp registration and details about our team. We will also be holding an in-person competition on Saturday, August 31st, with more details to come soon.
